Adele and Aaron are Romsey locals and High school sweet hearts. After being together for 11 years, they welcomed their son Archer into the world. When they arrived at the studio for their newborn session, I was taken aback by Archers hair. He had this incredible dark hair that I couldn’t get enough of, he definitely got it from Dad.
We were able to capture all the poses I had planned – basket, bucket, family, chest to chest and Froggy, because Archer was so chill. Even the composite Froggy pose (multiple photos to make one) we were able to get even though he was awake.

I have had the absolute privilege of capturing not only Sam’s beautiful newborns, their cake smashes and her maternity session in the Romsey studio, but also their wedding in Geelong. Being able to document life’s most important moments means the world to me and I get to do that every day!
Miss Felicity has been born in to the most amazing family. Her big sisters are so much fun and full of laughter. They adore their new baby sister so much and made sure she was happy and safe while I was photographing her- asking if she needed milk or a burp or a cuddle.
I was so lucky with this session because Sam gave me free reign on the colours and set ups hehe this is a photographers DREAM! I had been wanting to use my darker floral backdrop for ages (its not a drop that everyone likes) and finally was able to with Felicity. And boy did she suit it perfectly!
I will miss not photographing their beautiful newborns now that their puzzle is complete, but I know that I will see them for many years to come and can’t wait to watch this beautiful family over the years and document the girls as they grow into young ladies.

With every Newborn session we do, I always ask my beautiful families if they have anything sentimental they want to bring to their session to have photographed. A blanket from their Great Great Grandmother, the parents uniform (Police, Ambo, Army etc), Motorbike gear, Horse related items, things like that. Renee wrote in her questionnaire that she had a cap and a whistle that she wanted incorporated into Engjell’s Newborn session. This beautiful Cap and Whistle were her late fathers and I was absolutely honoured to be able to include this in her beautiful son’s session
You know when you meet someone and there is this connection… like its super easy to talk to them and you feel better just being around them? This is how I felt when Renee walked into my studio. She is such an incredible person and I absolutely adore her and her beautiful family. Every single photograph in Engjell’s gallery blows my mind with amazement. I mean you can totally see why right!!

I have known Jackie and Matt since I was in high school. They rocked the Basket Ball court, while I sat on the side because let’s face it contact sports are not my thing but I loved going there to cheer everyone on. When Jackie reached out to book her newborn session for her little one Parker, I was so excited!
During a newborn session, we include set ups of just baby (usually on the beanbag, in a bucket, basket or bowl), sibling and baby shots, individual parent poses and full family set ups both looking at the camera and looking away (You know the ones were everyone is looking at the camera and Nanna will just LOVE IT!!). We also try to achieve some of the more complex set ups like the “Froggy pose” (The one where there hands are holding their cheeks) but sometimes these are not for every baby. This particular pose (Froggy) is a composite image, this means that multiple photographs were taken with out hands supporting baby and then with the magic of photoshop, we erase the hands and make it look like they are doing it all on their own. Baby safety is VERY IMPORTANT to me and I take it very seriously!
We went with an earthy natural tone to the session, creating photographs that will match their beautiful home. Lots of soft creams, browns and muted colours teamed up with a little greenery.

Pregnancy is something that is different for each person. Don’t worry! I’ve got you!!!
Deanna came to me with an idea. She said she wanted to do an edgy maternity session with her partners jacket, heals and a hat! YESSSS! I was all over that like tomato sauce to a hot chip!
We went with mainly Black and White photographs to really make that edginess pop and to create this cool, trendy Mumma look! It has to be one of my favourite sessions to date. I love being able to step away from the “normal” style and explore creatively with my beautiful clients.

Being a local Romsey family who loves their puppies we absolutely had to include them in their maternity photographs, after all they’re family too! When Danika reached out and asked if she could include her beautiful fur babies into their maternity session, I couldn’t say no. We arranged with a local Romsey property to use their field, which meant we could take the fur babies with us and they would have space to run around without getting away.
I love being able to have the whole family in the session! Although they say never work with children or Animals… I absolutely LOVE IT!! They were both so good during the session!
We mixed up the session with two dresses, one from our client wardrobe and the other was one Danika loved from her own collection. Both of them were beautiful to photograph. I also lent her my hat for a few because who doesn’t love a hat photo!
We try to make every session fun and enjoyable. We dance, we laugh, I tend to squeal when I get a great shot. But all these things make for beautiful, natural photographs that show more than just a pretty picture.

When our resident Hair & Makeup Artist Skye is expecting her first baby, you have to go above and beyond to create the most magical photos ever. That Sunset says it all!
If you have had your hair and makeup done as part of your session, chances are it was Skye who did it! Skye has been with Aurora Joy Photography for going on 7 years now (2022) and goes above and beyond for the Women who sit in her chair. With this in mind, I wanted to create something truly magical and incredible for Skye and her husband Mitch at their maternity session.
After looking through their recent wedding photographs with the gorgeous golden light and picturesque location I had the perfect spot in mind but was so worried we wouldn’t get a nice warm sunny day due to the time of year it was. Boy was I wrong!! The days leading up to and following this session were lack luster. They were cloudy and drizzly, absolute misery. But not the day of their session! It was perfect! Perfect weather, perfect sunset, perfect gown and perfect $25 Market place find – the Peacock chair! Everything was exactly that PERFECT!
The love that Skye and Mitch have for each other is one that you read about in fairy tales. They are incredibly connected, are best friends and have this next level bond that I cant even explain. Every photo with them together you can feel the love they have for each other, not only just see it.
Skye, you are an incredible, talented, caring, fun loving and unstoppable force of a woman. You inspire me every single day and I can’t wait to watch your beautiful family grow.

After posting a model call search, Brodie reached out to be our model. She has said to Emma that she didn’t think her belly was good enough to be the model but thought she would apply anyway. OH MY GOD! Her belly was absolutely PERFECT!
With her beautiful boys in toe, we captured some precious moments before their new little brother arrives.
I don’t know what it is but I get a total Game of Thrown’s vibe when I look at these red on red photographs. Not in a scary bad way but in a Royal, elegance kind of way. There is just something so strong and empowering about Brodie that every single capture fills me with such emotion of profound happiness.
The pregnant body is absolutely precious and incredible. I wanted to honor this incredible journey Brodie is on and incorporated flakes of gold leaf all over her body to bring light to just how incredible she is.

Over the last few years I have been lucky enough to photograph not only Sam’s beautiful newborns, their cake smashes and this glorious maternity session in the Romsey studio, but also their wedding in Geelong. Being able to document life’s most important moments means the world to me and I get to do that every day!
Sam was never a fan of maternity photos, which hey I totally get! They aren’t for everyone. But Sam reached out when she was pregnant with her last baby and said FINE ILL DO ONE! I had to make this special. I had photos in mind when we spoke and wanted to create something breathtaking and beautiful. Just like Sam. She trusted my vision and this is just some of what we created together.
