Selfcare is important! Slow down Mumma, You deserve a break!

Hey Mama! Let’s talk about the wild ride of motherhood and the selfcare we aren’t doing…

Being a mum is one of the toughest and most rewarding jobs out there, isn’t it? I know firsthand just how much effort it takes to keep up with all the laundry, cooking, and driving to after-school activities. But you know what? It’s all worth it.

I mean, who doesn’t love those precious moments of snuggling on the couch with your little ones or hearing their giggles as they play dress-up? Even though motherhood can feel like a never-ending roller coaster, those moments make it all worth it, don’t they?

I know it’s tough trying to juggle everything at once, and some days it feels like you’re barely keeping your head above water. But guess what? You’re doing an amazing job! You’re raising wonderful humans and teaching them important life skills along the way. That’s no small feat!

It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos and forget about the joy and love that motherhood brings. But take a moment to breathe and remember that these fleeting moments won’t last forever. Before you know it, your little ones will be all grown up and you’ll be left wondering where the time went.

So, let’s embrace the wild ride of motherhood together. Take each day as it comes, and know that you’re doing the best you can. You’re an amazing mama, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

As a mum, you’re always putting the needs of your family first. But have you ever stopped to think about your own needs? It’s easy to forget about selfcare when you’re busy taking care of everyone else. But the truth is, taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of your loved ones.

Think about it: if you’re not taking care of yourself, how can you take care of others? It’s like trying to pour from an empty cup. So, it’s time to start prioritizing your own needs and practicing selfcare.

Now, I know that selfcare can seem like a luxury that only those with ample free time can afford. But selfcare doesn’t have to be a grand spa day or a weekend getaway. It can be as simple as taking a hot bath, going for a walk, or indulging in your favorite hobby.

Here are a few selfcare tips that you can start incorporating into your routine today:

  • Set aside time each day to do something that brings you joy, whether it’s reading a book, practicing yoga, or painting your nails. Hell, it can be taking a drive with the windows down and the music blaring.
  • Get outside and connect with nature. Take a walk, hike, or even just sit outside and soak up some sunshine.
  • Prioritize restful sleep. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep each night, and consider establishing a calming bedtime routine to help you wind down.
  • Create a self-care space in your home. This could be a cozy corner with your favorite blankets and pillows, a scented candle ( Myles Gray are always a hit in this house), and some music. It’s a place where you can go to relax and unwind.
  • Practice mindfulness. Take a few minutes each day to simply sit in silence and focus on your breath. You can also try a mindfulness app like Headspace or Calm to guide you through meditation.
  • Indulge in some pampering. Treat yourself to a bubble bath, a facial, or a massage. It doesn’t have to be a fancy spa day; you can create your own spa experience at home.
  • Get moving. Exercise is a great way to boost your mood and energy levels. Try going for a run, taking a yoga class, or even just dancing around your living room.
  • Say no to things that don’t serve you. It’s okay to set boundaries and prioritize your own needs. Don’t feel guilty about saying no to things that aren’t essential or that you simply don’t have the energy for.
  • Book a photo shoot to celebrate not just being a mum but being you! We love to capture families but love empowering our mums too and would love to capture the true you during your session! Check out our family experience page to see what we get up to.

Remember, taking care of yourself isn’t selfish; it’s necessary. So, go ahead and take that selfcare break you’ve been putting off. You deserve it!
