Hey there, fellow Melburnians! As a Maternity, Newborn, and Family Photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing countless precious moments behind the lens. But let me tell you, there’s often more to those smiles than meets the eye. Here are my tips for Self-Love Through Family Photography.
So, lean in close, because I’ve got a little secret to share – changing the way you see yourself can truly change everything.
Imagine this: flipping through family photos, zeroing in on every perceived flaw – the double chin, the squinty eyes, the extra weight. Does that ring a bell? Trust me, I’ve been there too.
I’ll be real with you – for the longest time, I let those so-called flaws consume me. I’d spend hours nitpicking every detail, comparing myself to impossible standards set by glossy magazines and social media feeds. It felt like I was in a constant tug-of-war with my self-esteem, always striving to reach an ideal that seemed just out of reach.
But then, something clicked.
I realised that by fixating on what I thought were imperfections, I was missing out on the real beauty of those moments. So, I made a conscious decision to shift my focus – to embrace the imperfections and celebrate the genuine joy and love captured in each frame.
And you know what? It made all the difference.
The next time you’re snapping away with your loved ones, let go of the self-criticism. Embrace every laugh, every silly face, every bit of love that shines through, because that’s what truly matters.
And if you’re on the journey to self-love and body positivity like I am, I’ve got some fantastic Aussie resources to share:
Try these 5 tips next time you have family photos coming up to boost your Self-Love Through Family Photography.
Remember, embracing yourself is not just for you – it’s a lesson you pass down to your little ones, teaching them to love themselves just as they are.
Let’s keep spreading love, one click at a time.
